Kim Norton-O’Brien
Kim brings 10 years of non-profit leadership experience to World Ocean School. Most recently, she served as Director of Development & Marketing for IYRS School of Technology & Trades, a noted maritime trade school with a focus on wooden boats in Newport, RI. There she was responsible for all of the school’s philanthropic priorities including leadership giving, annual fundraising, grants, and events as well as driving leads for admissions enrollment and marketing more than 20 events per year.
Prior to shifting to the non-profit world, Kim spent more than 15 years in the data and analytics industry helping Fortune 500 and 1000 companies including Comcast, Cablevision, and LendingTree use marketing data to drive revenue growth.
Kim has served on many non-profit boards and is currently a board director for Sail North. She lives in North Kingstown, RI, and Yarmouthport, MA with her husband and two children.
