Tyler Murphy

Mr. Murphy has extensive experience entitling and constructing commercial projects as well as high-end residences. During his tenure at Suffolk Construction, the largest general contractor in New England, he worked on over $300 million dollars’ worth of projects ranging from affordable housing communities that received LEED Platinum designation, to hotel construction and institutional life-science complexes. Tyler later moved on to high-end residential construction where he assumed a role as Vice President of Arc Design Group. There he was able to bring the construction management process entirely in-house, helping generate sales exceeding $30 million dollars. Many projects were featured in New England Home Magazine for their unique innovation and design. Additionally, Tyler was on the forefront of the cannabis industry boom during his time with Native Sun Wellness, where he spearheaded the efforts for entitling some of the first grow facilities and dispensaries in Massachusetts.

Now in his role as Rhino Capital’s Head of Construction and Development, Tyler has been able to leverage his experience and expertise to evaluate, design, build, and entitle a variety of large-scale complex projects. While at Rhino, Tyler and his team have entitled over 1.5 million square feet of laboratory, manufacturing, and warehouse across Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. His knowledge of the industry has helped him to successfully navigate a multitude of challenges including, special permit processes, federal and state permitting, complex land use issues, site design, zoning modifications, and environmental reporting.

Tyler alongside Rhino Capital supports the Corey C. Griffin Foundation, the Seal Legacy Foundation, Heading Home, and Team Impact. Tyler is a licensed builder and holds a B.S. in Business Management from Bryant University. He resides with his wife in Boston.

Growing up on Cape Cod, the ocean was an ever-present force. However, Tyler’s experience on the water was very limited until later in life when he and his wife began boating. Discovering this new world on the water was both challenging and rewarding. The experiential learning, relationship building, and perspective are a few of the virtues of seamanship that he is most excited about sharing with others through his support of World Ocean School.
