Advanced Summer Ambassador Program (Day 9)

August 25, 2025

We started this morning in Provincetown, our second time there on this trip. Breakfast was breakfast tacos with fruit salad. After hauling anchor, we raised sail, and headed north to Long Island in the Boston Harbor Islands. Once underway, started rotations; Active Watch, Lesson Session, and R&R. We learned how to do whippings on lies which prevents them from fraying. Lesson Session was when we went on the bowsprit (the pointy sticky part on the front), which required us to don harnesses and clip onto lines while we were out there. Lunch was grilled cheese, tomato soup, and salad. Afternoon rotations included navigation during Lesson Session, more Active Watch, and, you guessed it, more R&R. At 17:00 the pool opened! Just kidding. We’re on a boat, but not one with a pool. Our pool was the water around us, otherwise known as the ocean. Then we had dinner; chicken soup, rice, and green beans. As we write we are waiting for Swizzle to begin, which is the grand variety show to finish off the trip. There will be music, improvised Peter Pan, and many a costume. We are excited! But sad that the trip is ending. Farewell, dear reader, and may your days be filled with favourable winds and following seas.
