Gifft Hill School (Day 2)

March 17, 2026

After having our first night watches last night, which was hard for some people, and easier for others, we hauled back the anchor at 0800 and set sail for the Isle of Vieques. Many people felt seasick today, because the water was rocking us back and forth a lot. We learned that we needed to keep up with our Negalizne. As today was St. Patrick’s Day, all our food was green! Breakfast consisted of green chocolate chip and blueberry pancakes, with fruit and hard boiled eggs, at it almost went flying into the ocean! We had chores and routines and we struggled to get through it. We saw quite a few flying fish today, and it was fun to spot them everytime. Lunch was easier to serve, and it was a pasta salad and green Shepard’s pie. When we reached Vieques, we brought the sails down and anchored. We had a swim call, and everyone was jumping in the water and having fun. After dinner tonight, which we are about eat, we are going to the bioluminescent bay, meaning we are writing earlier than normal. Tonight the ship’s coordinates are 1805 490 N and 6528 702 W.
