Meet The Team
Kelly Percy
Kelly Percy grew up in Nederland, Colorado. She spent much of her youth in winter sports leading to jobs as a ski instructor and snowmobile tour guide. After traveling around, she ended up in Key West, where she fell in love with sailing and being on and in the water. That led to working aboard tall ships and a deep passion for sailing traditional ships. Kelly adores the community that tall ships create and the teamwork and bonds that are built living aboard and sailing together. There is always more to learn and different ways to be challenged. She believes that sailing has a wonderful way of making you feel confident and capable whilst still giving you plenty of opportunities to be incredibly humbled. Some ships Kelly has sailed aboard are When and If, Liberty Clipper, Harvey Gamage, Lynx, Angelique, and her own sailboat.
She has also spent time on ships in Antarctica and Alaska as a naturalist guide and considers herself to be top-notch at dodging icebergs. Some of her hobbies include climbing, paragliding, diving, snowboarding, rollerskating, and surfing.
She is mediocre at most of these hobbies but is very passionate about doing them anyway.
Kelly currently lives in Bellingham, Washington and is spending the summer taking classes and working on upgrading to her 500-ton license.
