We woke up, at about 7:20, the crew had already set sail and were traveling to Provincetown.
B watch (usually being the energetic group) was rather ill today- from throwing up to dizziness the morning and afternoon was tired.
During the first rotations, we learned about navigation, Dead reckoning, and how to figure out what to do when your AIS(GPS for boat) isn’t working.
Yesterday we climbed the shrouds and most of us got close to the top!
Something really special that we saw today was that we saw whales and dolphins, some humpback and finn whales with small to medium Dolphins.
WE FISHED!! All the crew caught about 15 mackerel and 7-8 squid, learning how to gut a fish was super interesting!
Right now we're sitting in the pilot house and writing this for all of you!
Notes from the group,
Bayli- Hey mom! I missed you extra today. Also I puked six times! I was quite ill. I can’t wait to see everyone again. I also very much miss Dad, CC and Isabelle with all my heart! Oh by the way, I’m not ill anymore so don’t fret. When I get home I’m going to take the hottest, longest shower ever. Love you all!
Sarahi-I had a good day today, and even achieved my goal of seeing a whale! I’m having so much fun but I can't wait to have my room and bathroom back!
Onyeka- Family I miss you soo much! The whole trip has been really fun. I saw the tail of a whale and it was really cool. I also saw a dolphin. It was sooo cool.
Gwen-Hi everyone! There have been so many different adventures in the last couple of days, and to be honest I’m both tired and excited at the same time! Giving my love to V, Blue, Mom, Alex and Dad. Hearts to all the people reading this, thank you for all the work into making this happen!
