Winter Ambassador Voyage: Day 4

Dec 30, 2025:

And there Ellie was… steering at the helm, when we lost another one(My crocs at Flamenco beach). And then Holly was like WHATTTTT? 😱 and then Alex was like THAT'S CRAZYYYY!!!!!!!!! We used our superb nav skills to figure out where we are and how long it takes to get to our anchorage point. We had hashbrown casserole with sweet old hot sauce courtesy of our favorite cook Anne, not to brag but she's pretty cool 😼. Then we got soaking wet mopping the deck during deck wash this morning at 0830. We hauled back the anchor while the choir sang the sea shanties we all know and love. We sailed from Culebra to Maho bay in St. John which took us a scary 6-7 hours, and made Quinn very sick. He was all churned up from the sea. On our journey from and to, Supercargo Geoff yelled out “we got a fish!!” and super cool chill and nonchalant Captain Hughes RAN to stern and pulled out the line and found out we had a beautiful Mahi Mahi and cut her gill to drown the fish in the water --you could say it was some pretty fishy business 😏. Then we (Captain, Alex, and me) butchered the Mahi Mahi while Ellie and Holly were eating beautifully made tacos for lunch. After, I cut off her tail, and kissed her goodbye twice before I threw her overboard to be reclaimed by her family (who definitely don’t know of her existence). After lunch we dropped the anchor at Maho Bay, and we climbed up aloft and looked at the amazing view of St. John in all of its glory. We then all came down to get ready to swim… but then… FIREEEEEEE(it was a drill). As we were about to go swimming after the drill, there was another boat that was blowing their Conch shell and so we decided to do the same thing back x2 because we have TWO Conch shells. THEN DINNER TIMEEEEEE!! “That bread was so gingery I thought I was in a gingerbread man” - Alex. Tonight's pick was hotdogs, bread, coleslaw, and BEANSSSSS. And now here we are, you reading every word I type, in a room with a giant giraffe statue, 2 dogs named Dexter and Lily, a dog named Circe. and shooting stars. Signing off now, bye forever.
