Landmark College: Day 3
January 10, 2026:
We started the day at 08:00 with breakfast, which consisted of pancakes and fruit salad. The group “C” swabbed the decks, and it was tough to cover the large area but using the firehose was cool and fun. After deck wash, we disembarked on the smaller boats and started the beach landing which took a couple trips. After everyone’s personal belongings and the mandatory needs of the crew were brought on shore, all groups hiked in unison. The hike was tough uphill but it was joyous, we saw hermit crabs and the beautiful mountains and surroundings of the island. Once we arrived at the beach, everyone relaxed and swam and had fun for three hours. During this time, we also saw the two historic Sherman tanks on the island. One was inland, and the other was right outside of the shoreline. After the excursion, we hiked back in the heat to the beach we had landed at. We were also able to snorkel for half an hour. We then returned to the ship, de-sanded ourselves and our belongings, and sailed to the interior of Ensenda Honda Bay, where we anchored for the night.
