We woke up to harsh conditions at 7:00 am. Heading to Christmas Cove in STT we brushed our teeth and did our other normal daily routine. C watch set up breakfast for those on the vessel, our breakfast was bread pudding with yogurt and some fruits. After eating we started doing our daily chores and then switched to rotations. A watch had RNR, B watch had knot tying, and C watch had an active watch, which Zach sailed the vessel towards STT. After rotations we had a muster call before lunch for sailors tattoos. Some of the tattoos were the pig and the chicken that meant that you would stay afloat after falling off the vessel, the swallow tattoo was earned after travelling 5,000 nautical miles. Afterwards it was lunch time, lunch was a casserole with white rice, tuna, and bread. Then after lunch some flaked the chains while others washed dishes, flaking the chains was kinda difficult while the vessel was moving, this task took an hour. But at least Jacob and some of the other students were singing sea shanties, by the time we had finished flaking the chains we moved back into rotations once again. A watch had RNR, B watch had heading, while C watch had stickers, later in the day during rotations each watch was allowed to go to the front of the vessel. We did a muster call again and did a schooner olympics, full of fun and challenging mini games that were knot tying, a rally race, and find the line game. To end the day we had a swim call which was so much fun, with the beautiful dark blue ocean. At the end of the day it was an amazing day. ps Jahda’s getting a night off anchor watch.
