Ashley Hall (Day 5)

This morning we enjoyed banana blueberry pancakes. We then had suttlebutt and reflected on the experience so far. We mustered to review each watch's almanac where we reviewed our travel progress and learned about ALS, Ursa Major constellation, and lightning origin. The crew then hosted an easter egg hunt with ship related prizes. Today's lunch was nachos. We worked on knots, pin identification, and line handling in preparation for the Schooner Olympics. We enjoyed cupcakes for Rhetta's birthday and had Thai noodles for dinner. We took in the foresail, inspected it, and replaced a piece of chafe gear. We put the jib up and now have taken it down due to the wind. During 8-12 watch crew prepared the boat furthur as we headed into an unexpected lightning storm. Luckily there was only a light rain. We did encounter 3 other ships.
