Ashley Hall (Day 7)
April 7, 2026
Hello everyone, this is C watch reporting live from our 2000 to 0000 hours. Recently our conditions have been very calm with light wind and a practically nonexistent sea state, knock on wood. Over the last few watches we have had a designated navigator. This person is in charge of plotting our course line and a new dead reckoning point every hour. A deckrocking signifies approximately where the Denis Sullivan is. We have also had the chance to plot GPS fixes based on our exact coordinates. While on watch earlier today we had the opportunity to go aloft. Everyone in our watch, including those scared of heights, climbed to the tippy-top. Yesterday, we had the chance to go out on the headrig and our entire watch sang pop songs and sea shanties while suspended over the ocean blue. Today, before dinner, many of us sat on deck and practiced weaving Turk's Head bracelets before we escaped below due to a short torrential downpour. For dinner we had fresh Mahi Mahi tacos made from the fish we helped catch and clean this morning. Many of us were even brave enough to try the fish heart. We will see everyone soon.
