Inly School (Day 1)

May 28th, 2026 

Today our group started our journey via bus traveling to New Bedford. We then started an icebreaker, and with 3 hours to kill, we went to the whaling museum, and we learned some fun facts about whales, such as: A whale’s heart weighs 400 pounds, the same as a grand piano, and a blue whale’s tail is 20 feet to 25 feet wide! After that, we went to go get ice cream and then we finally headed back to the boat. We started on a tour, in our different watch groups and we went over safety procedures such as the water tight doors, and the lifeboat things. After finishing a tour around the boat, we eventually began to head out of the harbor. Shortly after, we had dinner which was spaghetti and meatballs with broccoli. Tonight we are anchoring near Scituate and we went through the canal at approx. 19:45.
